Twelve Tags – Day Six
I think I'm in love with this technique! Today is Day 6 of Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas. When I saw Tim's tag this morning, I knew it was too colorful for me, but I also knew I really wanted to play along anyway.
I adhered a copper foil sheet to glossy cardstock, brayered it, then cut it using the tag die from Tim/Sizzix. Embossed that with his time/clock texture fade folder. Painted the whole thing with black and butterscotch paint dabbers (Ranger).
Simon Says Stamp and Show has a time theme this week and that's why I chose the clock texture fade.
My copper foil sheet wasn't as long as a regular tag, so to elongate it I cut a scrap and ran it through my ornate on-the-edge die, then tacked it in with a bunch of mini brads.
After burnishing the whole thing I added walnut stain distress ink which totally turned it into something I adore. Really, I wish I had taken stepped-out photos because the walnut stain step would blow you away.
I will definitely be using this technique again, and have to thank Tim for it as it had definitely never occured to me to try this before.
Day Six. Over and out!

Wow, Marjie, I love what you did with the metal. The copper is wonderful, terrific grungy feel to it. Awesome piece of work and just perfect for the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge this week. So happy to have you joining in the fun with us for our Time Elements challenge.
Hugs,
Linda
Very stunning tag! Beautifully done!
I heart this so much – Such a brilliant idea to combine them both!
Oooo! I love this one! Gorgeous!
This is brilliant! Tim’s one had too many colours and designs going on for my liking, although I think he achieved the vintage biscuit tin look he was intending. Yours is tasteful and clever,
