Tim Holtz has a beautiful tag on his blog today, Day 7 of the 12 Tags of Christmas. I am loving this year just taking parts of Tim's tag and making my own thing. In this case I have followed his background technique and basic design (sentiment as focal point and something along the bottom) but my colors, stamps, and “something” are different.
I followed his background technique using distress stains by Ranger, and used the styled label die (Sizzix) as a base for my sentiment stamp.
I stamped a few holly leaves and adhered them to Wendy Vecchi's Clearly for Art, which I heat set and molded into curved leaves. Holly is this month's theme at Inkurable Stampers.
The black strip is a Martha Stewart border punch, heat embossed with black powder. Sentiment is embossed the same way. Edges are roughed up with Tim's distressor and then inked with peeled paint, timber brown, and black soot distress ink.
I used a Versamark pen to color the brown strip over the hole, embossed with black powder and added a giant eyelet with my Crop-o-Dile. A few tiny brads and a bit of red bling finish it off.
If you're playing along with Tim's tags you should definitely check out the blog at Inspiration Emporium as well.
Thanks for the visit. Have a great day!
