Tuesday’s Tutorials, Week 41 ~ Featuring Sandra Mouwen

Welcome to Week 41 of my Tuesday’s Tutorials blog series, where each week I feature art tutorials created by different artists from around the world. This series has grown from a year-long blog series called Tuesday’s Texture. You can find out more about the transition from one series to the next in this post.

Tuesday's Tutorials Weekly Blog Series (Marjie Kemper hosts a different artist every week with their own art tutorials)

This beautiful art journal spread comes from Sandra Mouwen, who lives in Breda, The Netherlands. I love all the layering and the balance between white space and the elements on the left.  Be sure to visit Sandra’s blog to see the full tutorial – she’s included a video as well.

I hope you enjoy this weekly feature and that it introduces you to techniques that inspire you, and to artists who may not yet be on your radar.

I’ve combined all the art from the two series in one Photo Gallery for easy viewing. You can also see all the art from the two series on my Pinterest Board dedicated to this topic.

  1. Thanks, Marjie for featuring me at TT! I’m so honored! I had so much fun making this spread and I’m happy you’ve chosen it to be showcased on your blog! You’re such a fabulous person! Thanks again! Hugs, Sandra

  2. Sandra’s work is truly beautiful! x

  3. Beautiful – I saw this post on FB. My grandmother kept journals and stored them in a trunk in her attic and these pages are a reminder of my Grandmother – she placed photos, notes, letters, pieces of materials, etc. in her journal and wrote down her thoughts and she didn’t adhere things, but they were in the pages with the notes. Good memory!

  4. Her work is gorgeous!!!!!!!!1

  5. That really is beautiful. Sandra has a wonderful way of creating her journal pages to incorporate lots of detail without it ever seeming too busy and this demonstrates that perfectly. So glad to see the spotlight turned on her work in this way.
