It's my pleasure to join Jessica Sporn on another Stencil Test Drive, this time with her “Embrace the Rain” design. It's an honor to share this stencil showcase with Carolyn Dube, Natasha May, and Michelle Rydell. Here's the stencil we all used:
I used jet black Archival Ink to stencil the girl and umbrellas, and then made a mask with post-its to cover her feet and the bottom umbrella.
Masking those parts allowed me to stamp over the stenciled images with my the Stampers Anonymous ledger stamp to create a solid floor for her to be standing on… love that!
I used the new Tim Holtz Sizzix Block Talk alphabet die on textured grungepaper and painted it with Rangers' acrylic paint dabbers.
I added some Making Memories alpha stickers, and colored them with Scattered Straw distress ink. Added some background stamping and stenciling with different colored inks, and the giant flourish in jet back archival.
I used Tim Holtz's new Remnant Rubs… hope you like them as I think I'll be using them a lot! I love the variety of font sizes and images on the sheets, plus they went on very smoothly even over the paint. You get two sheets per package, which I didn't realize…. it was a happy surprise knowing there are two of everything. I used the Words rubs but Kim has both sets in the eclectic Paperie shop. I used the “observations” and part of the alphabet strip on the bottom right, plus three small phrases I spaced around the girl and the umbrella.
Here's another project I made with this stencil back when I first received it. Be sure to visit Jessica's site and all the other artists who had the chance to play with this fun stencil. Jessica has a stencil giveaway, too!
Many thanks for the visit. Also linking to the Masks & Stencils challenge at Inspiration Journal.
