I’m back with another Stencil Hop for Nathalie Kalbach, this time showcasing her Crackle stencil.  Love it!

Nathalie is giving away one of the stencils and you have six chances to win (one for every blog you leave a comment on).  Today I am hopping with:

Nathalie Kalbach

Carmen Sanchez

Cat Scanlon

Marjie Kemper (you are here)

Louise Nelson

Maria Mc Guire

I started by adding masking and washi tape to my pages (this is in the new Dyan Reaveley journal… what a great small size it is, measuring 5″X8″).

Next I painted the page with a few diluted acrylic paints, and spread the paint around with a baby wipe.

DSC03841

Never toss extra paint… I always use it up on either blank tags or a new journal page.

DSC03843

I spread embossing ink through the Crackle stencil and heat embossed with clear powder.

DSC03847

Rubbed some dark paint over the embossed areas and into the crevices:

Added more paint through the stencil onto one of the spare tags:

I ended up stamping Dina Wakley’s ‘lonely girl’ stamp onto a spare tag so I’d have a better impression than the one I stamped over the tapes. Stamped my sentiment, added a bit of filmstrip and bling, and called it a day.

Linking to Art Journal Every Day and to Artists in Blogland for their Seize the Day challenge.  The irony in that is I saw my friend Jessica Sporn’s post about the AIB challenge, and was apparently doing too many things at once because in my head I thought the challenge was to use the quote about ducks in a row.  Thinking of you, Jessica, and your great duck illustration!

Your comments are very much appreciated!
