This is an updated post from a 2013 blog hop I did showcasing the Circuit stencil Nathalie Kalbach designed for StencilGirl Products.
When I first saw this on Nat's blog I knew it was a ‘must have' stencil. You can position those lines any which way to draw the eye around the page.
I kept thinking of pathways and roads when I was considering how to use the stencil, so I started by adhering an old map into my art journal. The lines of the map play nicely with Nat's cool design. I spritzed it with Dylusions Ink Spray (Vibrant Turquoise) and later used a few of Ranger's blues (Salty Ocean and Manganese Blue) as well.
Love this Stampers' Anonymous stamp (the hand reaching out of the page is also by SA). I used black paint through Nat's stencil in some places, and the Manganese Blue ink through others. Since I added some stenciling over the stamped hand panel, it looks like it really melts into the page.
After cutting up a rub-on that said “One Size Fits All,” I added sticker letters, framed with white pen accents.
I chose an old stamp from Stamp Camp for my third hand. I stamped it on paper glued to grunge board, then cut it out and tied the reminder string on the finger. For some reason, that string cracks me up!
Mixed Media Art Membership Group
Have you heard about the Mixed Media Art Membership Group? It's a monthly membership that I host that includes facilitated learning through a Project of the Month (with closed-captioned video instruction), Themed Challenge of the Month, a live Zoom Create-Along Session where we all work on our art together, and lots of resources such as the Project Vault, Technique Vault and Resource Library. Best of all is the supportive and inspiring community we enjoy in our private Facebook Group and the gated private forum on the site where I host the videos and resources.
The group is only open for new members a few times a year, so please add your name to the waiting list to be the first to know when the doors open again. Click here to add your name to the waiting list.
Keep in Touch
Have a great day!
