It's really important to protect your Facebook Business Page. I know not everyone has a Facebook Business Page but I'm sure many of you do, and I hope this post will help you.

Why You Need to Protect your Facebook Business Page

Have your heard nightmare stores of people's Business Pages being frozen? If Facebook determines you've violated their terms, they will freeze your account.  Unfortunately, it can take a week or longer to resolve the issue.  No one wants to lose that platform for their business, especially if they post on it regularly.

Sole Administrator = Bad Idea

Until last week, I was the sole administrator on my Page.  What a mistake!  I use that Page several times a week. Consistency is key with social media and going AWOL would not be good.  Since I was the only authorized administrator, I'd be ‘up the creek without a paddle' if anything went wrong.

Four Simple Steps

Protect your account in four simple steps by granting a second person Admin rights. Go to your Business Page and do the following:

  1. Click Settings at the top of your Page.
  2. Click Page Roles in the left column.
  3. Cick the role below the name of the person you want to change (or add a new person in the same field) and select the appropriate role from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click SAVE and enter your password to confirm your authority to make that change.

Of course, you have to be careful in who you authorize as this person will have the same rights as you. Do not choose lightly.

I found it very easy to do. Taking these steps may save you major hassles down the road. I hope you found this Behind the Scenes Business Tip helpful.

so does this mean that if i am frozen out another can have access to my page?????

If you authorize them as Admin, yes, Diana. If not…. you’re unable to do anything on the page while trying to prove yourself to Facebook until the matter is resolved.
