Packaging Challenge – Use it Up!

Scrapbook layout - Make Art!Inspiration Emporium is having a challenge this month to recycle packaging on your art.  I used the clear plastic from a Tim Holtz texture fades package, and ran it through the Vagabond to cut a Styled Label.   It’s behind the title of the layout.   At first I stamped it with a grid stamp, then I inked it with alcohol inks.  I didn’t love it so I used Blending Solution to remove all that and then just drybrushed some  blue Dimensional Pearls behind it to make it more visible.

I stamped Tim’s notebook stamp onto a manila tag using one of my new favorite inks – Ranger’s Manganese Blue.

I cut the mini ticket out of the unseen portion of the tag and stamped it with the notebook too.  The blue chipboard letters are Heidi Swapp. The chipboard arrow is inked with walnut stain Distress Ink.

Loving that notebook border punch (I want to say it’s EK Success but it has no identifying marks on it whatsoever.) Cardstock is Bazzill and the woodgrain paper is Cosmo Cricket.  Border strips are K& Co and Jenni Bowlin.

Thanks as always for stopping by!

  1. Congrats on being the May winner! And turning me on to a possible new challenge. Your page is great – your son looks darling. He certainly takes after you with his creativity. And yes – the wrist armor is priceless. I swear we went through a box of popsicle sticks a week with my kids.

  2. GREAT page, Marjie! Can easily see where the Sam-man gets his creative gene.

  3. What a great layout – love the photos!

  4. Such a fun layout, and a clever use of packaging! Beautiful! (I will have to check out that ink….!)

  5. A brilliant example of recycling.
