Teaching Your Passion™ Online Course
I’m over-the-moon excited to tell you my new Teaching Your Passion™ online course is coming out in January. This course is for those who want to teach their passion to adults. So many people have asked me about this over the years, and I’m thrilled to have gathered all the how-to information for you in one place.
Whether you are into art like I am, or your passion is in another field, there is likely an audience for you. This can be a great way to earn additional income and make a world of connections. I honestly can’t get over how many doors teaching has opened for me.
Where Can You Teach?
I’ve had experience teaching in a variety of different settings:
- in independently owned craft stores
- in a major retail chain store
- at art retreats
- at trade shows
- in community/neighborhood setttings
Each type of venue carries unique challenges. In my Teaching Your Passion™ course, I walk you through all the questions to ask when evaluating your own teaching opportunities. I’ll be honest with you. I’m going to recommend you steer clear of many places that may want to hire you. I’ll explain why you should avoid some store owners and gravitate toward others. Not all venues are created equally and neither are all store owners. I’ll share personal experiences with you on this topic, plus a whole lot more.
I cover each of these topics in depth and share my personal experiences as well. I even give you scripts to use when pitching ideas to venues. Having taught as few as 2 people and as many as 50 at live events, I can attest to the gamut of situations you will face. I also address how online classes work from two different perspectives. I’ve had nearly 5,000 students enroll in my online mixed media art workshop with Craftsy, and I cover that as well as how to host your own online courses.
Recognizing that we all learn differently, I’ve broken the course materials up into a mix of video and written materials. We’ll enjoy a private Facebook Group where you can share progress and ask questions. I look forward to being in this small group community and to helping you along on your journey toward teaching.
Let’s make 2018 the year YOU get hired and get paid to teach YOUR passion. Sign up here for updates on the course launch.
