Mixed Media Art Panel with Distress Inks (Marjie Kemper)

I was so pleased when Rachel at Darkroom Door asked if I'd make a few projects this month. This film strip border stamp is actually a foot long!  It's perfect for my big art journal, but as you can see in this project, it's also pretty neat when cut to any length you desire.

I really enjoyed pairing stamped images with lots of metal and wood goodies from my stash. These come from Prima and Tim Holtz, as well as some that I have found literally lying in the street. The project is rather heavy so I chose an Ampersand Artist Panel as the base, rather than a standard canvas. These are very sturdy hard boards that can handle weight without sagging.

I'd forgotten how much drying time is involved in a project like this. Perhaps that's why it's been so long since I've done one!  Plan on lots of waiting time different as components are added and given sufficient time to bond. For this reason, it's ideal to work in stages over a course of  several days.
