Make a Wish Tag Tutorial

Did you know Distress Inks are one of  my favorite colorants?  It's a fact!  Scroll to the end for a free download on how I use Distress Inks in my projects.

This tag came together nicely.  I started out blending inks onto two tags, and then decided to combine them into one.

I used five inks to blend the colors shown below: broken china, tumbled glass, peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon, and chipped sapphire.

Once they both looked like the one above, I spritzed one with water and stenciled on the other.

After looking at both, I decided to chop up the watermarked tag on the left and use it to embellish the stenciled one on the right. I pulled out stamps, scissors, and paper punches and I used some old-school Tim Holtz filmstrip and some new-school Chit Chat stickers.

I popped up the circle tag with some foam core so the sentiment would stand out.  I love how it looks like the words ‘make a wish' are on a see-through tag, but they're not!  They are on a small part of the second (chopped up) tag.
