Grungy Monday 38

GrungyMonday38I loved Linda Ledbetter’s Grungy Monday challenge this week. Linda took us back to a project Tim Holtz made in 2007.

I used a black paint dauber on my butterflies stamp, let it dry, then stamped over it with Versamark.  I’d be lying if I said it was intentional but I’m loving the slight miss on the second stamping off the butterflies, giving a bit of a shadow.

The background is four different distress inks.  Check the link to Tim’s project to see his technique.

The sentiment and heartbeat stamps are Dyan Reaveley’s and the honeycomb stencil is from The Crafter’s Workshop. Random splotches are Rubbernecker.

I painted a few of Tim’s washers and brads black and attached in the corners.

Thanks so much for the visit.  Hope you have a great day!

Marjie

  29. I love the bold and dramatic look of this tag. It’s a reminder to me–I have to be careful that all my tags don’t end up looking alike–I tend to use my favorite colors repeatedly. I would never have thought of red and black, and I love it.
