Great American Stamp Store Classes – Past & Future

This is a long one…. you might want a cuppa.

I had a great time teaching at the Great American Stamp Store in Westport, CT this weekend, and I’m happy to share a “Save the Date” note for Wednesday, June 12 and Saturday, September 14th.  These are the art journalers, above.  We forgot to take a group pic of the morning class, where we re-created this album I  made as a Guest Blogger for Sizzix earlier this year:

Here are some of the students working away:

Lynette and Lorrie

Joan, Josette, Dolores, and Phyllis

Karen rocked her accordion album

 Beatriz and Monica

The afternoon class was art journaling with Dylusions Ink Sprays, torn papers, and lots of stamping and stenciling.  It was such a fun, relaxed group.  Wish I had taken more pics!

Amy working her magic with a white pen

Alison’s color combos are yummy and do you not love Amy’s red travel case?

Karen made this gorgeous page

And here’s another Karen did with the mermaid Carolyn Dube shared on her blog awhile back.

Susan worked on loose manila pages and made so many great backgrounds, as well as this “let your freak flag fly” page.  Working on loose pages can be very freeing as you know you can either add them to your journals later or cut them up and use them as accents, letters, frames, etc.

Store Relocation and Future Classes:

The Great American Stamp Store is moving right around the corner from their current location, to 8 Church Street, Westport CT.  I’ll be there on Wednesday, June 12, when we’ll be making Whimsical Tags along the lines of these (click photo to enlarge):

Kemper Whimsical Tags Class

This was a display of tags I put up during class, and some of the students said they’d like a class where they can just play, making tags like these.  It will be a casual class with students choosing the tags they’d like to make from a variety of possibilities.   And on Saturday, September 14th I’ll return to teach this accordion tag album:

Kemperwishbook1 Kemperwishbook2 Kemperwishbook3

as well as a larger version of this chunky 3″ canvas made with Distress Paints and Distress Stains:

I’d like the thank Ranger for featuring this canvas on their blog last week.  And thank YOU for visiting.  I appreciate it!

You’ll find all my scheduled teaching dates HERE.

Your comments are very much appreciated!

Thank you so much for teaching the accordion album class. I learned do much during that class and I met some great ladies. When my accordion die arrived in the mail I put it to work right away. I did not have the Bracket and Frames cartridge so I created my frames with my Cricut using the Fancy Frames cartridge. I also did a 4 panel accordion panel instead just to see the look of it. THANK YOU again for sharing you techniques. I do hope to attend another of your classes in the future….

  4. Wow, great post, what a lot to see! I’ll say it again – pity it’s too far to hop on the bus and join in! Valerie
