Everything Wendy Vecchi – Making Art Challenge #10

This week on the Everything Wendy Vecchi yahoo group the challenge is to use at least one of Wendy’s Studio 490 stamps, a patterned-paper butterfly, and some stitching on the edge.  I used background stamps from the Alphabetically Art and Let Your Art Have Wings sets, and the flower is from the Botanical Art set.  The sentiment is Hampton Arts.  Distress inks are forest moss, scattered straw, and black soot.

The butterfly is cut twice with a Tonic punch from paper scraps, edged with black and inked on the back with green so you don’t see white when the wings are flipped up. Held down with one of Tim’s ideology pins. The holes for the stitching don’t look bad in real life, though they lookoversized in the pic because I had a white background.

If you’re a fan of Wendy and her Studio 490 stamps, check out the yahoo group.  It’s a fun, supportive group and the weekly challenges will definitely keep your creativity sparked.

Have a great weekend!

  4. That is a beautiful card, Marjie. I love every single thing about it, but my favorite has to be the safety pin for the body of the butterfly. How clever!
