Compendium of Curiosities 3 ~ Challenge #6

CC3C-06 Marjie kemper

Hello and welcome to the sixth challenge from The Compendium of Curiosities Volume 3.   The new challenge focuses on an Altered Burlap Panel (pg 37 of Tim’s book). You’ll find all the information for Challenge #6 ~ Altered Burlap Panel ~ on Linda’s CC3C blog.  One thing we do ask is that you not post tutorials on this technique, as we’d like to encourage people to get their own copy of the book.

Our sponsor this week is The Funkie Junkie Boutique, and there are fabulous prizes available from Tim and Mario as well. Just  pop over to Linda Ledbetter’s blog to see the rules and FAQs.

I started out with a burlap panel, tissue wrap, and several strips of paper from 7 Dots Studio.  I added interest to the paper strips with PaperArtsy stamps designed by Ellen Vargo and a variety of stencils.

Here it is with several more pieces added. That clear piece I’m holding is a piece of packaging I used to ‘audition’ where my sentiment would land. The sentiment is made up of stickers from Tim’s Chitchat collection… you just pull the words you like and create your own sentences.  I was able to rearrange the sentiment at will (on the packaging) until I found the placement I liked, and then adhered it to the canvas.

Another view.  Those diamond-ish shapes are from the Courtyard Frameworks die, and the arrow is Idea-ology.
