Compendium of Curiosities 3 ~ Challenge #5

CC3C-05 Marjie Kemper Tag

Hello and welcome to our the 5th challenge from The Compendium of Curiosities Volume 3.   The new challenge focuses on Distress Watercoloring, Part 1  (pg 39 of Tim’s book). You’ll find all the information for Challenge #5 ~ Distress Watercoloring, Part 1 ~ on Linda’s CC3C blog.  One thing we do ask is that you not post tutorials on this technique, as we’d like to encourage people to get their own copy of the book.

CC3C-05 Marjie Kemper (A)

I started out with a jumbo tag cut from watercolor paper and some stamped images from Stampers Anonymous.

CC3C-05 Marjie Kemper (B)

I cut two of the stamped images apart and adhered them all to the tag with matte medium.  Once dry, I added several layers of stenciling with Ranger Distress Inks.

CC3C-05 Marjie Kemper (C)

I made a rough copy and cut up the words from this stencil by Dina Wakley, to be sure of positioning.

CC3C-05 Marjie Kemper )(D)

I like to use post-its to make sure I don’t end up stenciling parts of the words around the ones I do want.

CC3C-05 Marjie Kemper (E)

I used a Sharpie to connect the open letters (looks like I missed that first “d” though…. ooops!)
