Welcome to the latest challenge celebrating Tim Holtz’s book, the Compendium of Curiosities, Volume 3. The focus this time is on Tim’s Collection Folio, found on page 34. If you still need a copy, you can get an autographed copy from Tim right here.
Our sponsor this week is Inspiration Emporium, and a lucky random winner will receive a $50 shopping spree on their online store. There are also prizes donated by Tim and Mario for the Curiosity Crew’s favorite project. You’ll find the Rules and FAQs at Linda’s site… you’ll need to upload your project and do a bit of linking, so please take a moment to read the FAQs so you are definitely in the running for the prizes.
The Collection Folio comes in two sizes. I used the smaller of the two today. On my cover I used several of Tim’s Sizzix dies as well as some great metal Idea-ology.
Here’s a peek at the inside. I used a combination of scrapbook papers, plain paper, inks, paints, dies, stamps and stencils.
My favorite aspect of the Collection Folios is how every single one is different, depending on who makes it. I’ve taught this as a class (and will again on May 2nd at Great American Stamp Store) and no two are ever anything even close to alike. I love creating a variety of page shapes, sizes, and edges.
On this page, I used arrows from Tim’s Artful Arrows Sizzix die. I also used the Tiny Tabs & Tags die here, with the blue patterned paper.
That blue piece is a pre-printed transparency.
This is one of my favorite pages. Lots of stamping and layering. I’ll list all the dies used at the bottom of the post.
Here’s a closer look at a few of the page elements. Thanks so much for the visit today.
