Compendium Challenge meets Art Journal Cover

IMG_9724This week Linda Ledbetter gave us Marbled Stains as the creative prompt in the challenges based on Tim Holtz’s new book, Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 2.

Eclectic Paperie is the sponsor of Linda’s challenge and they’re also running an art journaling challenge on their own blog.  This week is the kick-off and the challenge is to make your own art journal cover.  I work in a lot of different size art journals and enjoyed making a cover for this 5.5″ X 8″ book.

I used Tim’s technique with the Marbled Stains for my base, then layered on lots of distress and archival inks using Dylusions’ stamps and stencils, some Crafters’ Workshops stencils, and other favorite rubber stamps. The letters are from Tim’s new Sizzix Wordplay die.

I’ll also add this to Lisa Somerville’s Bloggers’ Challenge.  Lisa’s looking for people to create their own background papers this week.

Thanks so much for the visit!

Marjie
