Sharing a business tip today… have you heard about IFTTT?
It's a free app that will save you time on social media and many other things as well. IFTTT stands for “If This… Then That.” Basically, it takes quite a bit of behind-the-scenes work off your plate. It's amazing!
IFTTT works on a recipe formula.
Recipes are super simple and often social-media related. Think of it working this way: if you add one ingredient to a pan, the app automatically does something with it. If I add lemons… the app will make lemonade.
You connect various social media accounts (as few or as many as you like) and then IFTTT will do social sharing for you. It's one of the best time-saving business tips I know. This is the first recipe I tried:
Now that I've added this recipe, my Twitter feed looks visually appealing since now when I post on Instagram, IFTTT automatically posts an actual photo on Twitter… not just a text link.
I've also started using DropBox automatically via IFTTT. Much more effective and no more dragging/dropping.
Not all recipes are social-media based.
Many involve home and office. You can even connect your FitBit and a Google spreadsheet. I'm getting a daily weather update automatically (If Sun Rises… Send Me Weather. That recipe made me smile!) Here's a handy one for anyone who has a cell phone:
There are SO many recipes possible and a great deal of customization based on Android/IOS. I've just scraped the surface of it.
