Wall Hanging with ATCs

Wall hanging with ATCs (Marjie Kemper)

CC3C is short for Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. III (Tim Holtz's new book) ~ the third C directs us to Linda Ledbetter's new challenge blog which will host challenges every other week based on the techniques in Tim's book. I've created a wall hanging for this one.

I'm so honored to be part of what's often called a design team but in Linda's fun style we are calling The Curiosity Crew. What a team – it's a total pleasure to work with all these talented gals!

Tim is all about being curious, experimenting, exploring with products and techniques to make things your own. I am, too. The Curiosity Crew really looks forward to seeing YOUR spin on each given theme… be unique, and make it your own.

Prizes!

And the prizes?  Wowwwwww.  We are sponsored alternate weeks by Inspiration Emporium and The Funkie Junkie Boutique, and wait… there's more… Tim and Mario have also sent Linda a ginormous box of goodies for giveaways to challenge participants.  I'm thinking there's a lot of loot at stake!

Wall hanging with ATCs (Marjie Kemper)

The first challenge/technique is Paint Marbling (page 43 of the new CC book).  I started out painting a base piece of wood white and attaching my mini wood clipboards with gel medium.  Each one is 2″ X 3″, so a tad smaller than an artist trading card (ATC).

Wall hanging with ATCs (Marjie Kemper)

Distress Paint Marbling

I colored all my surfaces with the Paint Marbling technique, and added a bit of texture to some of them first by adhering diecuts from Tim's new Frameworks dies as well as the older but still lovely Washer Border die.  Next my stamps came out and  a few other dies and I went to town decorating my six little clipboards.

I hope you'll play along with us. Linda has run these challenges on Tim's other books in years past, and I can say from experience you will meet many like-minded folks along the way.  This is one of those cases where the internet shows what a small world it is, as we all take on a common challenge and have fun with it, leaving comments and encouragement along the way.

Online Class

If you’d like to learn more about the techniques I use working with other Ranger products (Distress Inks, Dylusions Ink Sprays, Distress Stains and more), check out my online class with Craftsy.  It comes with lifetime access and a money-back guarantee!   It’s called Inventive Ink: Colorful Mixed Media EffectsNewsletter subscribers receive an automatic discount code for the class, so sign up here for the newsletter if interested. Let's Stay in Touch

Are we connected on other platforms?  I'm active on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, and Twitter.  Where do you hang out? Let me know and I'll follow you back.

See you at the CC3C!
