ATC Triptych Video Tutorial

Video Tutorial - Artist Trading Cards - ATC Triptych - Marjie KemperATC Video Tutorial

Welcome back! Today I have an ATC Video Tutorial for you. As many of you know, I love making Artist Trading Cards. In case this term is new to you, Artist Trading Cards (often referred to as ATCs) are small rectangular pieces of art that are often swapped or traded between artists.  ATCs measure 2.5″ X 3.5″ and are the same size as a baseball card.

ATC Video Tutorial

Here’s a 5-minute ATC video tutorial showing how I’ve used DecoArt fluid acrylic paints with inks, stamps, stencils and modeling paste:

Oldies but Goodies

I love these stamps from Stampers Anonymous. They are classics and they’re the perfect size for ATCs.Artist Trading Card - Breathe ATC - Marjie Kemper

You can see lots of texture where I’ve added interest with  modeling paste through stencils.  I really like how the paste changes color in places. The black ink is permanent so it really pops on top of the painted cards.

I’m often teased about my stash of stamps, but the beauty is you can use stamps over and over again. Different colors and materials change the look entirely. These three are some of the first stamps I ever bought, over a decade ago. Do you have favorites from that long ago?  If you do, I bet you take great pleasure from the repeated use of your purchases.

One Stamp, Many Ways

I have an occasional series on the blog called One Stamp, Many Ways.  Last week I featured a stamp from Tim Holtz that I’ve used in four different projects. Click here to see One Stamp, Many Ways – Part 4.

  1. Love the techniques Marjie…..

  2. Marjie, these are fabulous ATCs! Love your tutorial! These are some of my faves stamps too! I designed them over 15 years ago.

  3. What stencil did you use? Love the different designs on one stencil!

    • Marjie Kemper says:

Hi, Grace. That stencil is from The Crafter’s Workshop. It has five mini patterns. I can’t make out the name as it’s got so much dried paint on it but it should be easy to find on their website.

  4. I enjoyed the video and the ATCs are beautiful! x
