ATC with Texture Fade & Diffuser

Welcome! As part of  my self-imposed challenge to create #halfanhourofart whenever I can, I made this Artist Trading Card (ATC) today using some favorite Distress Inks and Sizzix diecutting products. ATC with Sizzix Texture Fade & Diffuser

How to create this ATC

Embossed ATC with Sizzix Texture Fade & Diffuser (Marjie Kemper)

I started out with a blank artist trading Card (ATC) which I ran through my Sizzix Vagabond using a Diffuser.  Diffusers are a great tool because they prevent the embossing folder from embossing certain areas.  If I had not used a Diffuser, the entire card would be fully embossed.

There are a lot of ways to Diffusers as can be seen by watching this video Tim Holtz shared a few years ago.  Tim has some excellent tips in the video.

Next I used a variety of Distress Inks and applied color to the tag using Ink Blending Tools.  Using a light hand in a circular motion blends the colors smoothly.

I stamped the sentiment in Jet Black Archival Ink. You can frame this or any other project by inking around the edges with both brown and black Distress Inks. Stenciling and light stamping adds interest to the background.

I love how this embossing turns out and your colour choices look great! I only have a big shot but diffusers look as though they could be really useful! Maybe my New Year Treat! Wishing you a Happy Christmas! Chrisx

That is brilliant, Marjie. Every time I see diffusers used I’m a bit jealous. Really need to add some to my stash. Fab ATC!

I miss creating and swapping ATCs. What a perfect size for 1/2 hour, heck maybe even a set of 2-3 in that time frame! This sentiment often comes to mind when I’m having difficulty getting a creative bit just right.
