Art Journaling with Pinks

Kemper art journal 07312014

I would never describe myself as a lover of pink, but it surprised me over the weekend when I was doing some website maintenance and gallery editing, to see how frequently I use it.  This page started out as a mop-up, with a few scrapes of leftover pink paint from another project followed by some stencil cleaning (see that backwards alpha stencil up top? that was surely cleaned off on the right hand page with this one pressed down upon it at some time.)

I have been doing massive cleaning/sorting of supplies and decided to add these old flourish and arrow rub-ons to the page, along with stamps from Wendy Vecchi, Dyan Reaveley, and The Artistic Stamper.

The summer is zipping by and it’s hard to believe July is over.  Hope yours is going well and that you’re able to take time to make art or do whatever makes you happy!

  9. The pink is wonderful Marjie and I love the ghostly image of the face…. beautiful. Anne xx

  10. I have come to embrace the color orange, but, for me, the jury is still out on pink. While I enjoy it and I can appreciate it in others’ works, it is still difficult for me to use. I like here how you have turned a mop up page into a work of art. Lots of yummy goodness to be found here, Marjie!
