Art Journaling ~ Put a Tag on It

Update:  Thank you, Simon Says Stamp, for featuring this project in your Designer Spotlight.

Kemper art journal with time tag

By the time you read this I’ll be learning more about encaustics at Art Is You ~ very excited about that! I’m also taking one of Jessica Sporn’s painting classes, and really looking forward to that.

I’ve scheduled this art journal post with links to Art Journal Every DayCreative Every Day and Simon Says Stamp for their fall challenge. The leaves outside my window are changing and their hues include the rich yellows and reds similar to the paints and inks I’ve chosen for my journal page.

Kemper art journal with time tag 2

A blunder on the left page was hidden by a tag from my stash. Continuing a few patterns off the edge of the tag and onto the page (with various stamps and stencils) makes it seem like the tag was part of the page all along.

Thanks for the visit! If you’re new here, please keep in touch however you like: monthly newsletterFacebook, Pinterest, BlogLovin’YouTube, or Twitter.

Your comments are very much appreciated!

  1. Marjie — You have such a gift for layering color and stencils. Love the tag on this!! (Don’t we all have those blunders and this is a wonderful way to change a “blunder” into a masterpiece 🙂 ) Stunning visual imagery. I love how the stamped face in the background emerges as your eye takes in the stenciling. Gorgeous. Hope you have been enjoying your classes!! Congrats on your spotlight over at Simon Says Stamp! — Mary Elizabeth

  2. Tricia Ann says:

Wow, I love your art! The colors are too cool. I haven’t done anything in blue. I want to try this.

  3. Hope you’ve been having a great time with the encaustics – can’t wait to see that in action! Couldn’t agree more with the sentiment on the tag, and I love that you used it to cover up a problem – clever! Love the drama in the layers, and those golden honeycombs.

  4. Point out to me anyone who doesn’t relate to that sentiment because I doubt if they actually exist LOL. Time is whizzing past far too quickly for my liking.
A stunning page brimming with colour, exactly what we come to expect from your art.

  5. Gorgeous journal page Marjie! Lovely deep colours and a great sentiment. Thank you so much for sharing with us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!!
