Art Journaling Between the Lines, #2
Today's subject is Art Journal – Persistence.
Between the Lines Series
Here is the second installment in my new Blog Series, Between the Lines. As you might know, I have a bit of a stencil stash. This series lets me highlight one at a time in a unique way. I'm pairing handwritten quotes with the lines created inside stencil designs.
Art Journal – Persistence
The journaling lines for this post come from StencilGirl Products' Dots and Dashes stencil, which was designed by my friend Jessica Sporn.
I started out with a journal page that already had various shades of blue paint. After I spotted that Teesha Moore stamp in my drawer, I stamped her onto an old book page.
This girl seems to have a bit of an attitude, not to mention a funky outfit. I googled ‘persistence' quotes and found one for her. Depending on the age of your book, the paper may be tear easily. As much as this seems to be a problem, you can reinforce the paper by swiping a thin layer of matte medium on front and back. After that it'll be easy to cut even intricate shapes out.
For the purpose of creating journal space, I used Stazon ink on top of the painted page. The ink blending tool handles this nicely.
Mixed Media Art Membership Group
Have you heard about the Mixed Media Art Membership Group? It's a monthly membership that I host that includes facilitated learning through a Project of the Month (with closed-captioned video instruction), Themed Challenge of the Month, a live Zoom Create-Along Session where we all work on our art together, and lots of resources such as the Project Vault, Technique Vault and Resource Library. Best of all is the supportive and inspiring community we enjoy in our private Facebook Group and the gated private forum on the site where I host the videos and resources.
The group is only open for new members a few times a year, so please add your name to the waiting list to be the first to know when the doors open again. Click here to add your name to the waiting list.

What a beautiful page Marjie. And a great tute!
Another cool journal page! I like the stamp and the quote. That’s always the struggle sometimes – what to write when the page is done.
Gorgeous AJ page! Love your Zetti girl on text.
A beautiful page, wonderful colours and great stencilling. I love how you added the girl to book pages – her funky outfit is such fun! Anne x
