Art Journaling with Dylusions Ink Sprays- Step X Step Tutorial (Marjie Kemper)

Dylusions Tutorial

Hello! I'm sharing a page I made today with Dylusions Ink Sprays and a stencil Seth Apter created for StencilGirl Products. Blue link are affiliate links. I'll receive a small commission if you purchase products through my links. It won't affect your purchase price at all.

Now is the Time art journal page with Dylusions Ink Sprays (Marjie Kemper)

I applied some modeling paste through a script stencil onto a plain page to start. It dries quickly and gives a nice raised dimension:

And then I applied three colors of Dylusions Ink Sprays with some water on top of the page.  You'll see below that I like to use tags to ‘mop up' the excess, so no color is wasted.

I’ve created a Dylusions Ink Sprays cheat sheet for newsletter subscribers. It explains step-by-step how I apply the colors for blended backgrounds. Click here to get your copy!

Here's how things looked once I'd placed, pressed, and removed three tags. I ended up using one of these tags on this project, and saved the other two for another day.

And here's a peek once the page was dry and I'd done a bit of light stenciling with Distress Inks:

Finally, I attached to the tag to the page and did additional stamping and stenciling. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

Well done to Debbie on her win! Your page is beautiful, love the blues and greens, they look wonderful. I have requested your tips, I don’t spray often but your tips will surely help me try it more often! Anne xx

Love this page – the blues and greens with a hint of sunshine are so uplifting, and the words intensify that positive message. Great tip about mopping up with spare tags direct off the page. I always do that from the mat, of course, but I don’t know that I’ve done it in a journal. I’m not much of a sprayer, I guess that’s why!
