Art Journal ~ What We See Depends on What We Look For

What We See Art Journal

How has your summer been? Mine has flown!  It's been tough finding time to play in my journal but I made sure to find some time last weekend.  This is a large journal that measures 9″ X 12″.

You know how I love a strong sentiment in my journaling. This one comes from a wonderful StencilGirl Products stencil designed by Caroline Dube. I use it all the time, as you'll see in a photo below.

It's all about the Layers

I started out with some very light paint layers (DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics) with multiple layers of paint, stencils, and stamps.

Next came some softly stamped hot air balloons (Hampton Arts).

And more layers

More paint + some balloons stamped in black and heat embossed, and some cut out and adhered with matte medium.

Here's that incriminating photo I referenced. Love it! I use post-its and tape to block off the lines I want to use so the ink doesn't slip onto the adjoining words.

Your background of varying colors and textures of greens makes me think how the earth would look beneath me if I were in one of those balloons. So fun. Wonder what I would look for if I was up there leaning over the basket… I know – I would look for YOU Marjie – the creator of my adventure!!!! Your journal creation makes me feel happy! Thanks bunches. j.
