I am so thrilled for my friend Seth Apter who has just released a whole new line of beautiful background stamps through Impression Obsession, which are manufactured right here in the USA. Seth is not only extremely talented, but also one of the nicest guys and generous teachers I’ve ever met. If you ever have the chance to take a class with him (and he travels a lot, so chances are you may)… do not hesitate! Along with me on this ride are the following artists, who’ve each created something using some of Seth’s new stamps:
I made an art journal page in my a big book that measures 9″ X 12.”
Seth sent me the Faded Fragments set and I chose to use these two from that set:
The one on the left is called Screen Print and the one on the right is called Broken Tile. I decided to use them both in the background of my page, but also to highlight my large letters with the Screen Print stamp. First I painted the page with DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics and did a lot of stamping and stenciling.
Next, I painted my chipboard letters and stamped Seth’s Screen Print image on them in black ink, which I then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I cut a second set of letters out of black card stock to shadow the embossed ones, and added some strips below the word ‘dreams’ to ground it. I also fashioned a little hanging sign from a Sizzix die and some strips of black paper.
The lady is stamped on a piece of clear acrylic packaging, which gives the effect of her looking out a window when you turn the page just so.
I’m off to check out what the other artists made who are using Seth’s new stamps. Be sure to visit them (links up top) and also visit Seth’s blog to give him a high five on his exciting new endeavor.
