Art Journal ~ Celestial

Kemper art journal 11202014

This week's celestial theme at Simon Says Stamp made me smile. A few weeks ago, I mentioned the big studio purge I've been doing, and that it's led to a major culling of my stamp collection. The best thing is it means I have a fresh reminder of exactly what is in my stash. I've always had a love for all things Sun-Moon-Stars related, and I kept that category of stamps intact.

I've used a combination of paints, inks, stamps, and stencils, with a bit of modeling paste through the alpha/numeric stencil.  You can click on any photo to enlarge.

This is one of my favorite stamps…and I love the way you’ve used it in this cosmic layout. Fabulous colors, Marjie…and all the stars and rays and layers make it feel like its own special universe.

Love all your rich backgrounds Marjie, the modelling paste is quite effective as a hint with the lettering, pumps it all up a notch. Even though the whole studio is packed I lnow it still needs a good purge. xox

Really lovely – wonderful, unusual colour combination, and the vintage-look stamps work so well with the bold graphics of the stencilling.
