Art-Is-You: On My Way

Today I leave for Art-Is-You in Connecticut…. I’m so looking forward to the creativity, laughter, and learning.  One of the many nice customs at AIY is that people often bring ‘trades’ – they can be anything – just a little ice breaker and a different way to share contact information with others than with a business card (you put your email/blog address/etc on the back of the trade).  Some people offer supplies as trades (leftover fibers, trims, etc.), some offer handmade art – there’s no right or wrong (kind of like the whole retreat!) and some don’t bring any, which is fine too.

I ended up with about 50 using some favorite stencils and Tim Holtz’s Sizzix ticket die with Dylusions Ink Sprays and Ranger Distress & Archival Inks.

Isn’t that jigsaw puzzle stencil cool?  It’s from StencilGirl Products.

I added a variety of sentiment stamps.

Jet black archival ink around the edges finishes them off.

I’m taking four classes with three different teachers. Love having my creative batteries charged.

Next year I will be one of the instructors… so excited!  Save the dates if you can.

Thanks very much for the visit.
