Hi, I'm Marjie Kemper. I'm an artist and an educator.
I host a monthly Mixed Media Art Membership Group as well as online art classes.
In addition to my art classes, I offer one called Teaching Your Passion which covers how to get hired to teach at live and virtual events and how to self-host your own classes.
How can I help you? My site is divided into three categories: Content, Classes, and Community. I encourage you to have a look around the site and see what meets your needs.
MY ART STORY
I started teaching art classes in local shops in 2012. My classes quickly moved to shops nationwide and travel teaching became a frequent part of my life. I've taught in major arts & crafts stores, at national conferences like the Association for Creative Industries (formerly the Craft & Hobby Association) and at intimate weeklong art retreats.
Tim Holtz selected me in 2013 to attend Ranger University, and I became a Certified Ranger Educator that year.
Craftsy (now Bluprint) hired me to teach my first online mixed media art class in 2015. Over 5,000 students have now taken that class, and it lit a fire in me. I developed a deep appreciation for online learning as it allows me to reach students worldwide. See all my Art Classes here.
MY BUSINESS STORY
I've run my online business for nearly a decade, and in the course of that time I've learned a lot.
I'm the person who's wearing all the hats... chief content creator, email marketer, writer, photographer, videographer, video editor, graphic designer, digital course creator, blogger, bookkeeper, and more.
Over the years, I've invested in my business and attended many conferences and trainings related to the roles listed above. Additionally, I've completed a 60-hour entrepreneurial training through my state's small business development program.
I'm pleased to now offer my own courses related to email marketing and social media marketing. See all my Business Classes here.
I've been honored to be published multiple times in print publications including Art Jounaling magazine, Craft Industry Alliance, Craft Industry Today, HandCrafted, Just Mixed Media, Just Swap Art, Stampers' Sampler, Somerset Studio, and Take Ten.
I've also enjoyed features on numerous manufacturers' websites include Darkroom Door, DecoArt, FaveCrafts, OttLite, Paper Artsy, Paper Issues, Ranger Industries, Simon Says Stamp & Show, Sizzix, and StencilGirl Products.
