A Weekend Getaway ~ Art Journaling Style

I was so fortunate to attend the art retreat last weekend organized by Everything Scrapbooks & Stamps. Dyan Reaveley and Dina Wakley were the instructors, and Michelle McCosh and her tireless staff left no detail undone… it was wonderful!

Here are a few group shots from the last day. There were 60 attendees.  We were together the first afternoon/evening and then split into two groups for Saturday/Sunday.  Group shot credits go to Cynthia Fawcett.

We worked on backgrounds and had some collage play with Dyan.

And with Dina we had some fun exercises in creativity before building our pages.

I have to say I loved working with both Dina’s and Dyan’s paints, which each have different consistencies.

A highlight of the weekend was meeting two online friends, Caroline Duncan and Diana Heatherington.  All of my table-mates was lovely, too, and many were quite new to journaling. It was nice to see new people come over to the dark side.

Don’t hate me, but I did manage a side trip to Pompano Beach to walk a mile along the shore.  The water was quite chilly but the air temp was great, and I reveled in my hour at the beach before heading home to New York’s freezing temperatures and mounds of snow.

Thanks for the visit, today!  If you get a chance to take a class, treat yourself.

Your comments are very much appreciated!
