A Fond Farewell to Frilly & Funkie
Frilly & Funkie Tag
Happy Holidays! Today I'm sharing a pocket tag filled with wishes.
This is my last project as a design team member with Frilly and Funkie. I want to thank Linda Coughlin and all my Design Team buddies for their support, friendship, and encouragement over these last nine months. I've loved being part of this team!
Challenge
The current challenge (“Make it a Tag – Winter or Christmas”) is hosted by Terry. I decided to make a jumbo pocket tag using Tim Holtz's Snowflake (Sizzix) On-the-Edge die. I used the Snowflake Texture Fade to emboss my XL tags. Tip: when using text in a die, be careful. Place your old book page upside down so the music is in the right direction when folded over as a flap.
I used a few wintery stamps and lots of Tim's Idea-ology: Adage Tickets, Muse Token, Brads and Metal Corners. A strip of Linda's white corrugated cardboard (colored with a light rub of Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Inks) finishes it off.
I used the Vintage Photo to highlight the raised snowflakes, too.
Mixed Media Art Membership Group
Have you heard about the Mixed Media Art Membership Group? It's a monthly membership that I host that includes facilitated learning through a Project of the Month (with closed-captioned video instruction), Themed Challenge of the Month, a live Zoom Create-Along Session where we all work on our art together, and lots of resources such as the Project Vault, Technique Vault and Resource Library. Best of all is the supportive and inspiring community we enjoy in our private Facebook Group and the gated private forum on the site where I host the videos and resources.
The group is only open for new members a few times a year, so please add your name to the waiting list to be the first to know when the doors open again. Click here to add your name to the waiting list.

Merry Christmas Marjie. Signed up for your class as a Merry Christmas to me. Looking forward to spending some time with your creative process. thanks as always for sharing.
If I were asked, I would have to say that my favorite art substrate would be a tag! I have never made a pocket tag, but after seeing this one, I definitely will. I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday and a very Happy New [email protected]
A really beautiful tag that is just as current today as it was in 2012! Wishing the compliments of the season to you and yours. Thanks for a wonderful year of inspiration! Hugs, Anne xx
What a gorgeous make to send off with!!! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I just got very confused! Relieved to find it was a re-post… and so lovely to see this amazing tag again. Wishing you a peaceful and joyous festive season, and the same for 2017 (though it’s hard to imagine how!). I sent through an e-card a few days ago… have you found it?
Hugs,
Alison x

Love the combo of the embossing folder and the die cuts of the snowflakes. All the tickets popping out of the pockets are a great way to embellish this great looking tag.
Absolutely stunning and very vintage….thanks so much for sharing.
The snowflakes create the most beautiful texture and that piece of music at the top is a gorgeous touch.
What a stunning tag to share with us as your final DT creation.

This is wonderful, but then, your work always is. Love these tones/colors. Very sophisticated!
Oooo so pretty! Came together beautifully, Marjie. Love the variety of ways you have incorporated the snowflake. Gorgeously vintage!
Hard to imagine you won’t be at F&F any more… but since we get to play together at eP, and given I’m an avid follower anyway, it would be silly to say I’ll miss you, but I bet they will!!
What a grand finale you’ve created too… an absolutely stunning tag – LOVE the musical snowflakes, and the gorgeous rich tones – completely love it!!
