Welcome! Today I am sharing twenty pieces of small art. These were my posts for Days 1-20 of the #100dayproject on Instagram. My friend Jessica told me about this creativity party that began on Instagram on April 19th. I’ve bundled the photos below so each collage represents 4 days of Instagram posts.
The only requirement was to agree to participate with some kind of daily creativity (writing, art, photo, cooking… didn’t matter what). We both decided to post some kind of art each day for the 100 day period. You can find both our Instagram feeds here: Jessica on Instagram an Marjie on Instagram.
I thought I’d do a post-it a day, figuring that was mighty small real estate and squares are the optimum shape for Instagram pics. I ended up mixing it up a bit size-wise and just keeping to a ‘small squares’ theme. My squares range between 2″ and 4″ in size.
I’ve enjoyed having a brief creative time set aside each day and not allowing it to take up a whole lot of time. Most of my squares are just blended ink/paint + stamps + stencils. It was definitely fun to go through all my stamps and I’ll be trying not to reuse any over the course of the project.
An interesting aspect of this was that each participant was to create his her own unique hashtag, so all the art from that person could be seen at a glance. Jessica’s hashtag is #100daysofquirkycritters. Mine is #100daysofsmallsquares. Searching#100dayproject will show you all sorts of beautiful entries.
Well, thanks for visiting and I hope to see you on Instagram, too.
