Artsy Index Cards, Part 3
Welcome to the third installment of this 100-Day project. I’ve been creating an index card each day for my part in it. Click on these links to see the earlier posts: Days 1-20 and Days 21-40. I decided to mix it up a bit with this third batch, so I changed the orientation to a vertical position.
Are you participating in the 100 Day Project? The gist is to do something creative for 100 days in a row and post it on Instagram under a unique hashtag. Mine is #100daysofartsyindexcards.
I am at the point of being tired of the commitment, but I know I’ll feel good that I stick with it. I enjoy using a mix of products and techniques, including paint, ink, stamps, and stencils.
My diecut machine has been getting some use and lately I’ve been making the cards more dimensional with extra layers of paper and chipboard.
I’ve also used my Gelli Plate on a number of these cards. I love making monoprints and need to remind myself to do it more often.
I was also able to pick up some new stamps recently. While I love my oldies-but-goodies, it’s nice to have some new images to play with to try to keep it fresh.
Online Mixed Media Class
I tend to think of these as mini art journal pages. I like testing out techniques on these small surfaces, just as I do on shipping tags. If you’d like to learn more about the techniques I use in my art journals, check out my online class with Craftsy. Class is called Inventive Ink: Colorful Mixed Media Effects and it comes with lifetime access and a money-back guarantee. Here’s a 2-minute preview video:
