100 Days of Artsy Index Cards (Marjie Kemper)

Artsy Index Cards, Part 3

Welcome to the third installment of this 100-Day project.  I’ve been creating an index card each day for my part in it.  Click on these links to see the earlier posts:  Days 1-20 and Days 21-40. I decided to mix it up a bit with this third batch, so I changed the orientation to a vertical position.

Are you participating in the 100 Day Project? The gist is to do something creative for 100 days in a row and post it on Instagram under a unique hashtag.  Mine is #100daysofartsyindexcards.

Days 41-44

I am at the point of being tired of the commitment, but I know I’ll feel good that I stick with it. I enjoy using a mix of products and techniques, including paint, ink, stamps, and stencils.

Days 45-48

My diecut machine has been getting some use and lately I’ve been making the cards more dimensional with extra layers of paper and chipboard.

I’ve also used my Gelli Plate on a number of these cards. I love making monoprints and need to remind myself to do it more often.

I was also able to pick up some new stamps recently.  While I love my oldies-but-goodies, it’s nice to have some new images to play with to try to keep it fresh.

Online Mixed Media Class

I tend to think of these as mini art journal pages.  I like testing out techniques on these small surfaces, just as I do on shipping tags. If you’d like to learn more about the techniques I use in my art journals, check out my online class with Craftsy.  Class is called Inventive Ink: Colorful Mixed Media Effects and it comes with lifetime access and a money-back guarantee. Newsletter subscribers receive an automatic discount code for the class, so sign up here for the newsletter if interested. Hereโ€™s a 2-minute preview video:

  1. Definitely stick with it – it’s good for the soul to see it through! And fun too to play with stamps new and old – I think if I manage to sign up for one of these challenges, I’ll make it my personal task to ink only as-yet-uninked stamps… to my shame, that should easily keep me going for 100 days!

Love all the variations here – DD’s meadow flowers look great, especially on the tiled background, and I’m definitely enjoying the more layered, dimensional versions too.

  2. Another beautiful set of cards Marjie, I really like the change in orientation too, it really suits a lot of the images you used. I like the paper dolls too! Anne xx

  3. These are gorgeous, Marjie! I’m envious of your 100 day goal. Life is insanely busy for me right now leaving very little time for my artsy endeavors. Thank you for letting me art vicariously through you. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. These are gorgeous! LOVING the colors!!!!!!!!!!
